Alexander filed I-130 immediate relative visa petitions for his wife, Elizabeth, and their daughter in December 2020. The I-130 petitions were quickly approved, then the cases were transferred to the National Visa Center for visa processing.Since the embassy in Cuba was temporarily closed, their cases were transferred to the U.S. consulate in Georgetown, Guyana for their interview.
After waiting over a year, the interview was finally scheduled in May 2022. The interview went well and Elizabeth sent additional requested documents within one week for the officer to review.
Then, their cases were placed in administrative processing.
Alexander sent many inquiries to the embassy, but unfortunately, he received no updates. That's when he reached out to HIL to file a lawsuit and push the government to make a decision on his wife and daughter's cases. We filed the complaint and within one month, the embassy issued their visas. Alexander is now reunited with his wife and daughter. Congratulations! Jim
