Sepideh filed an I-130 spouse petition for her husband, Mahdi, in May 2018. USCIS approved the I-130 and then sent the case to the National Visa Center for visa processing in December 2019. After the case was transferred from Abu Dhabi to the Ankara embassy, the State Department conducted the Mahdi's visa interview in April 2022. Mahdi was given a DS-5535 form to complete and submitted it on the same day. However, his case got stuck in administrative processing. Sepideh sent many inquiries to the government and contacted her Senator's office for help.

She even hired a different attorney to try to file a lawsuit. She desperately needed her husband by her side as she was suffering serious health issues alone in the US. Unfortunately, nothing worked. Frustrated with the delay, she hired HIL in August 2022 to sue the State Department. We quickly got the attention back on the case and by early November, she was finally reunited with her husband in the US! We're so happy for you two and glad the lawsuit worked! Jim
